David has recently been working on a set of custom coil overs for the front of his Merkur XR4Ti knowns as KurTwo2. 

David writes:  "Been making a little progress on fun stuff.  I needed to go to coilovers on the front to drop the nose of the car down.  The car with the 2.3T weighed in at 2650 with a full tank of gas.  So far the 3.0 D-tech version is going to come in under 2500 lbs.  I borrowed the corner scales from work and weighed the car and everything I have for it, estimated what I don't yet have, and come up with 2485 lbs.  The rear is 80 lbs heavier than the front.  Anyway, I was running 25mm lowering springs before and the car sat as high as a stock 2960 lb XR so I went to coil overs.  The threaded sleeves and adjuster nuts are replacement parts from Carrera.  The springs are 275 lb/in Hypercoils.  The upper spring seat is from Bicknell racing products.  I cut the stock coil spring seat from the struts, had the remaining weld turned down and squared up, and made a 17-4 stainless lower seat for the threaded tube made.  The upper spring mount had to be drilled out slightly to fit the 20mm strut shaft and it fits against the upper bearing. The stock upper strut mount and bearing are used."
